Memoir news and new Thriller in the works!

As I excitedly await the release of my memoirs, published through Brainspired Publishing, I began imagining something new to write about, this time I wanted it to be a fiction and so I embarked upon this adventure that is writing a thriller. My life has been about coming to terms with who i am as a woman of transsexual origin, finding love and working through much of the trauma as well as all the wonders of being Queer. My life has been one of drawing and painting, describing and sharing… Read more Memoir news and new Thriller in the works!

Writing my Thriller novel.

After I wrote my memoirs “Breaking Free:45 Years In The Wrong Body”, I wasn’t sure if I would go on to write anything else as I had not really entertained the notion that I was a real writer, but then something changed in me. People began telling me how what I had written touched them, that they couldn’t put my book down, then I read the reviews of my book on Amazon, I was blown away by the positive comments and I began to feel encouraged, motivated even. I also… Read more Writing my Thriller novel.

Feeling Fortunate, and Thankful.

Sometimes I just can’t believe how fortunate I am, I’m not saying life has been easy as it evidently has looked more like a roller-coaster ride for me than a simply walk in the proverbial park. Yet here I am being signed to a contract with a traditional publisher, yes you read me right, I am with Brainspired Publishing, exclusive publishers of LGBTQ+ authors in a variety of genres. At present, I am collaborating with them, taking a fresh look at the cover, then we’ll move on to editing and… Read more Feeling Fortunate, and Thankful.

The First Time.

The first time I dressed in the gender I knew myself to be I felt an overwhelming sense of being right, I could finally allow myself to open up as a woman. Imagine hiding from yourself for about forty-five years only to finally find the wherewithal to come out at long last, and this only because your life depended on it. I would, whenever I could draw and paint female models, feel as though this brought me closer to who I was, it was like a secret way in which… Read more The First Time.

Always count on Facebook to censor your art

Yesterday, my friend and co-writer Dawn Renee Greer tried to take out an ad on Facebook and used the front cover of the book of my memoirs called Breaking Free 45 Years In The Wrong Body. It was refused because it considered sexually provocative by Facebook. Like Dawn mentioned in a post, if this were a man on that image the whole scene would have been perceived as someone who was down and out and trying to crawl out of a box, yet a woman in the same position is… Read more Always count on Facebook to censor your art

Book update.

As of yesterday, with the invaluable help of my collaborator Dawn Renee Greer, the book is at a 37,558 word count which is in the ball park of some 250 pages. I think this will end up being a 300 to 350 page book, a memoir or maybe even an autobiography, the jury is still out on that aspect. Please do keep in touch via this website as I work on building it, eventually there will likely be a way of directly buying the book as well as prints of… Read more Book update.
